Ever hear that squawk from the Motorola radios used by commercial and public service like law enforcement or emergency services personnel? My friend KF6ERB asked me about that subject one time and it made me scratch my head.

Ever hear that squawk from the Motorola radios used by commercial and public service like law enforcement or emergency services personnel? My friend KF6ERB asked me about that subject one time and it made me scratch my head.

Challenge accepted! So I looked into it and basically this is what I found out. It is MDC - Motorola Data Communications. It's digital information sent from radio to radio with frequency shifts to generate data radio identification, gps, emergency, etc…
